Kathmandu district has been officially declared a “Fully Immunized District.” The formal announcement was made during a special event held on Monday.

According to the National Fully Vaccinated District Guidelines and Procedures, all 11 local levels within the district have completed the required processes and confirmed that all children aged 16 to 23 months have received full vaccination (immunization) by the age of 15 months.

The certificate of full immunization was presented by Kiran Thapamagar, Health Minister of Bagmati Province, and Dr. Sumitra Gautam, Health Secretary, to Santosh Budhathoki, the coordinator of the District Immunization Coordination Committee, Kathmandu.

The Kathmandu District Immunization Coordination Committee stated that, as of Asar 20, 2082 B.S. (July 4, 2025), the district has maintained the status of full immunization coverage.

According to the committee, immunization services have been made accessible and convenient in all municipalities of the district, ensuring that no child is left without vaccination.

Health officials emphasized that vaccines are crucial in protecting children from diseases such as diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, polio, measles, pneumonia, and others. With this declaration, Kathmandu has become a model district in terms of public health security in the country.
